As they have done for the previous six years, The Roots are again holding their annual Jam Session the night before the Grammy Award show this February. No further details have been revealed regarding just who will be joining The Roots on stage, except for the fact it will be hosted by their night-time gig pal Jimmy Fallon.
But it's absolutely expected that John Legend will help them perform some tracks off their Grammy-nominated Wake Up! collaboration. And The Roots will likely tear through a fair amount of How I Got Over, which, too, was nominated for some Grammy's. Beyond that, though, all we can speculate is that some big names will be sharing the stage with the Legendary. Previous Jam Sessions have included appearances from everyone from Jay-Z to Matisyahu to Slash to Mos Def.
While I doubt that many, if any, of us here at Prefix will be attending, we will definitely be looking forward to some choice live footage from the show. The Roots Jam Session is being held Feb. 12 in Los Angeles.
