The Polyphonic Spree Cover “Let It Snow” For Holiday-Themed Album (Video)

Who doesn’t like having a surfeit of Christmas-themed music during this period of economic recession when there’s a shortage of everything else. At least we have one thing.

The Polyphonic Spree released an album of holiday covers back in October just in time to remind you: only 63 shopping days until Christmas. Last week gave us the album opener, an original instrumental composition titled “A Working Elf’s Theme.” The group also made an odd little video featuring puppet elves working the line for the same dream we all have: sandwiche–er, personal satisfaction or something.

Now they’ve debuted their video for “Let It Snow,” which you can watch below. Set on an ambiguously foreign island, a misguided boy wishes for a white Christmas and the residents look on in amazement as their tropical paradise is slowly covered in snow. There’s a Twilight Zone-esque ending and it’s all pretty festive.

Holidaydream: Sounds of the Holidays Vol. 1 is out now via Good Records Recordings/Kirtland Records. [Hypetrak]
