The Police reunion tour, which kicked off last year and grossed more than $350 million, ended last night at Madison Square Garden. PBS taped the show, so expect a fawning (but relentlessly informative) documentary soon. With any luck, this will be the last go-round for the Police, that way we don’t have to hear about how the band members hate each other, but are soldiering on, anymore.
In other reunion news, this finally sets the stage for the best group that hasn’t reunited that was famous in the ‘80s to finally hit the road again (excluding the Clash and Joy Division for obvious reasons and Liquid Liquid, who were never famous to begin with): DeBarge! Take my word for it. It’ll only be a matter of time before DeBarge will be making you feel the rhythm of the night at a County Fair near you. (Rockwell will probably be opening. It's not like he's got anyone watching him now.)
