The Pains of Being Pure At Heart Announce Absurd SXSW Dates, Spring Tour To Follow

In support of their recently released and truly fantastic self-titled debut album, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will be going on a brief tour of the United States this coming Spring. The tour focuses mainly on the cities adhering to Eastern Standard Time, likely in an effort to spread the post-shoegaze love to those fans who can’t make it out to SXSW this year. The fans that can, however, must note The Pains’ impressive schedule for the festival -- the group is playing ten shows in four days, seven of which occur in a span of 48 hours. This is what it is going to take to make any money from now on, my friends, and it looks like it will be one hell of an adrenaline rush for the foursome to undertake.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

has anyone actually listened to this? the pains of being a pure 90's shoegaze band w/out an ounce of talent and originality. But the kingmaker(pitchfork) apparently loves amateur/revivalist rock for the kiddies who were never around for the real deal. What a surprise. Can't wait to meet these guys and help tune their guitars and show them how to turn off those boss chorus pedals.

ummm... ok? Anyways, the Pains are one of my must-sees at SXSW and I'm glad there will be plenty of chances to do so.
