‘The Office’ To End After Season Nine

After nearly a decade, it looks like Dunder Mifflin is finally getting ready to close its doors. Executive producer Greg Daniels has announced that The Office’s upcoming ninth season will be its last. Daniels acted as showrunner for the NBC series’ first four seasons and will take the helm back from Paul Leiberstein for its last year. Daniels reports that he wanted to return to provide an “artistic ending of the show.”

At least one character may live on, however, through the rumored spin-off tentatively titled The Farm. The new series would follow Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson, and would take place on his beet farm. [Variety]
