This has been a good week for golden age hip hop hagiography. It's no hologram, but some rare footage of The Notorious B.I.G. on the set of the "Warning" music video has popped up on YouTube, and it's got everything from an adorable picture of Biggie's daughter (now all grown up) to his signature lumberjack flannel (unfortunately not red and black). The footage of the shoot is particularly fascinating, because it gives a window into how hands-on Puffy was; throughout the shoot, he adjusts the props, calls makeup in, and gives directoral notes like "You're really mad right now!" Ultimately though, this clip is all about Biggie, who looks both youthful and deadly serious, performing a song that would become one of the most commonly referenced in rap history. Check the footage out below.
