Excellent news comes from Washington, DC, this morning, where it’s been announced that Ian Svenonius is getting The Make-Up back together. The singer’s post-Nation of Ulysses project gained notoriety in the late ‘90s for its mix of soul and punk, with Svenonius reveling in his frontman role over a series of often over-subscribed shows.
The reunion has been announced, just like many others in recent times, to tie in with an ATP event, this time at the previously announced I’ll Be Your Mirror shows at Alexandra Palace in London. Svenonius hasn’t commented on the reformation yet—he’s probably too busy preparing by shrieking “ow!” and “Let me hear you say yeah!” into a mirror somewhere.
It’s not clear yet which day The Make-Up will play at this ATP festival, but you can feast your eyes on the lineup over here, which also includes new additions the Ultramagnetic MCs and Bill Wells with Aidan Moffat. Will The Make-Up be a addition to the ATP event in New Jersey this September? We don’t know yet, but it seems like a decent bet. [via The Quietus]
