13 years ago, a terrible virus invaded my elementary school, and it killed the dignity of students and teachers alike. That virus was Los Del Rio's "The Macarena." Then the virus disappeared. Sure, "The Macarena" popped up every once in awhile (typically at sporting events) but after 1997, it was often seen as a joke. The only people not in on the joke? Los Del Rio.

Yes, it seems Los Del Rio are re-launching "The Macarena" to coincide with the popularity of Quinceañeras, 15th birthday parties, in the Hispanic community, and have opted to add more sex with the video above, and to include some Spanish rapping instead of cutesy female vocals. Los Del Rio are also in the process of launching a TV special that will look for the new Macarena girl, titled "En Busca De Macarena" (The Search for Macarena), and are working on multiple remixes of the song. 

If this song becomes a hit again, someone has to pay. And that someone will have to be the record executive who decided this was a good idea. [Idolator]
