The Lemonheads ready new album for fall release

Perpetual slacker and drug-addled 90s pop/rock/folk recluse Evan Dando has recruited a couple of former Descendents to wrap production on what will be the eighth Lemonheads studio album.  The self-titled disc, out this fall on Vagrant Records, will be co-produced by Dando, and new drummer, Bill Stevenson. Karl Alvarez rounds out the trio on bass.

The last Lemonheads release was 1996s Car Button Cloth, after which Dando went the Screaming Trees/Mark Lanegan routedissolving the band after its most focused effort to pursue low-profile solo work. This resulted only in Baby Im Bored, released in 2003 a full decade after Dando was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine. Yeah, we forgot about that one too.

The band has a couple of U.K. gigs slated for mid-July
