The Lady Gaga/Susan Boyle Duet May Actually Happen

That proposed duet between Lady GaGa and Susan Boyle just took one step closer to becoming a reality. To recap: Gaga has already stated an interest in the collaboration, saying: "I think she's amazing, she is so unique and I love that. I would love to do something with her some day. I think we would really complement each other."

While the match-up may sound odd, this is like a 2010 musical equivalent of the gold rush for the music industry, which would essentially be pairing up two new acts that actually shift albums in serious quantities. Gaga/Boyle may even allow record industry execs to return to the kind of coke habits they haven’t enjoyed since the early ‘90s.

Boyle has subsequently responded to Gaga’s call, saying: "I think Lady GaGa is a wonderful artist and completely original and I like her costumes. Love it! Yes, I'd love to do a duet with her, complete with telephone hat too!" Now they both just have to stopcollapsing and get into a recording studio. Meanwhile, those great sages of our times, Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin, appear to have preempted the collaboration by several months (see video above).
