The Knife's Karin Dreijer Anderssson goes solo

Since the release of 2006's Silent Shout, notoriously camera shy, idiosyncratic electronic duo The Knife has been pretty quiet. While it's anyone's guess when (and if) The Knife will release new material, the duo's Karin Dreijer Andersson has started her own project. Fever Ray, as it's called, is signed to Rabid Records and will release an album in early 2009 according to the project's Myspace page. The track that's up on that page, "If I Had A Heart (instrumental edit)," doesn't seem like her own work is an obvious departure from the cool, sinister work she's done with her brother, Olof Dreijer. The title, "If I Had A Heart," is a pretty big clue in to that.
