The Knife Working On New Album

While the Knife have kept relatively busy since releasing 2006’s fantastic Silent Shout, it’s safe to say we have all been anticipating a proper follow-up to that album more than anything. And it appears that we will finally be hearing said album next year. The Swedish duo announced yesterday that they are working on a new record that should be out in 2012. It will be their first release* since collaborating in 2010 with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock on Tomorrow, In a Year, which served as the music for an opera based on Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species.

*I’m referring only to their work as a duo. Otherwise I would be a damn fool for overlooking Karin Dreijer Andersson’s great album as Fever Ray.
