The Killers to Ghostface Killah: Thanks, but no thanks

Via: Drowned In Sound

Industry Rule No. 4085: Don't turn down a collaborative effort with GFK.

Anybody who knows anything knows that GFK has equaled instant musical credibility in the '00s. He's probably one of the most creative people in music right now (see collaborations with MF Doom, Amy Winehouse, Cassius, Prefuse 73). Then again, the members of The Killers seem to be doing everything in their power to tank their careers. So in that regard, I understand this decision.

But I also must call out the esteemed GFK on this one. I know there are far worse bands out there and that the album name The Killers Meet The Killah would be cool, but couldn't he just hook up with a little less known but more respectable group. Something like TV on the Radio (Killahs on the Radio?) or the Walkmen (Walkmen Killahs?) would do just fine.

GFK also stated that he would like to work with Andy Nicholson of the Arctic Monkeys. Given his track record with European artists, I support GFK in his mission. And I'm also excited to watch as GFK attempts to break into indie world.

Isn't Ghostface already in the 'indie' world?

A Ghostface/TVOTR collab would rule.
