The Irony! Kayne, Taylor Swift Are Billboard's Artists of the Year

How’s this for irony: Kanye West and Taylor Swift are again sharing the stage – metaphorically, at least. That’s because they’ve both been named Top Female and Top Male Artist of the Year by the magazine (which gives the awards according to its year-end charts).

And to make the irony even worse, Swift beat out Beyoncé, who came in second place. In case anyone forgot, Kanye annoyed millions when he stormed on stage at the Grammy Awards earlier this year and grabbed the microphone from Swift to say he thought Beyoncé deserved the top music video honors. Wonder what he’s thinking how (and what his handlers are thinking).

Just in case anyone was wondering, the top female Billboard artists for 2009 are (in descending order): Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears, Pink, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna and Keri Hilson.

Top guys include: Kanye West, T.I., Flo Rida, Jason Mraz, Ne-Yo, Lil Wayne, Pitbull, Jamie Foxx, Eminem and Drake.
