The Horrors to Guest on New Gorillaz Album

The Horrors have just completed the cycle from nearly forgotten gimmicky goth-punks to hotly tipped young band, as they have announced that they will be featured on the upcoming new album from Damon Albarn's Gorillaz' project.

“We went down to the studio,” Webb continued, “and [Albarn] said, ‘We’re working on the new album and we’ve not collaborated with a guitar band before and your album (Primary Colours) is one of the most exciting things I’ve heard in a long time. Would you be up for working on a track?”

The Horrors were thrilled at the invitation of course, as they’re huge Blur/Gorillaz fans, and the collaboration went forward because, as Webb said, “it made perfect sense for us.”

There's no word on when said Gorillaz album will see store shelves, or if said Horrors collabo will make said Gorillaz album. Either way, it's hard to imagine The Horrors of "Sheena is a Parasite" getting a call from Damon Albarn. "Sea Within a Sea" Horrors did. [24 Bit]
