The Hold Steady to Open for Dave Matthews Band

First The Hold Steady announced tour dates with the un-cool Counting Crows. Now the band has announced a tour with the even less cool Dave Matthews Band (you know them as the band that college girls write in their favorite music section on Facebook as "just Dave"). The tour goes down in June, after The Hold Steady wrap up their tour with War on Drugs and a few more shows with the Counting Crows.

Could be worse bands they could be opening with, but there's no way I'd go to these shows.

These guys want to be rockstars, so they need to get in front of bigger audiences. Their tour with DBT was cool, but how far did it get them on the road to playing arena rock in actual arenas?
