The Hold Steady set to rock Tribeca Festival

The Hold Steady have been announced as the headliner for the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival Breaking the Band event. Supporting acts will be The Virgins and Republic Tigers. Alex Patsavas of Chop Shop Music Supervision is curating the show and says that assembling the acts presented a unique challenge: “It's about getting bands that I consider very license-friendly in front of filmmakers. I also wanted to focus on great New York music as well." Unsigned band Bad Vein will also appear through a cross promotion with Target Stores. Tickets for the event will go on sale April 12 at the Tribeca Film Festival box office. [Billboard]
