• Today, every fledgling music PR rep is cursing Craig Finn for extending his gift for words to the press release, announcing a tracklist and release date for The Hold Steady's fourth studio album, Stay Positive:

"A great American philosopher named D. Boon once said 'our band could be your life.' I think that is true. But 'your life could be our band' is also a true statement. I know this because we have lived it. These are our lives. These are your lives. This is our fourth record. Stay Positive."

To paraphrase that same great American philosopher, Craig, your fourth record is whatever you made it to be.

Stay Positive will be released July 14 in the U.K. on Rought Trade and July 15 in the U.S. on Vagrant. The Hold Steady will be performing at Pitchfork in Chicago the very week of the album's release, sure to result in many a confused hipster.
