Bad news for fans of the international bestselling book and movie The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The sequel to the film, which was scheduled to be released in 2013, has been delayed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the script for the follow-up, titled The Girl Who Played With Fire, is still a work in progress and production cannot move forward until it has been completed. Steven Zaillian, who also wrote the first film, is writing the script for the second as well.
A source close to the production told the magazine that the sequel is "definitely moving forward," though they "are not in a rush." Have no fear fans, Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, stars of the first movie, will be reprising their roles in the sequel, though director David Fincher hasn’t signed on yet, but still remains the studio’s first choice to helm the same position.
