This week's edition of "Playing on Prefix," currently up on the KCRW music blog, features San Francisco's The Fresh & Onlys and a little bit of a different focus. Rather than honing in on a single song, which really wouldn't do justice to the band's scope, this week's piece is more about how The Fresh & Onlys fits in with its city's rich music history. The band's new album, Play It Strange, starts in a folky place then meanders into some strange and interesting places, and eventually reaches a very satisfying resolution.
This series is ongoing, so please feel free to send us suggestions of artists or songs. New features post every Monday. [KCRW]
