Billed Northern California’s Micro-Chella by SF Weekly, Treasure Island Music Festival returns for its third year with a fierce lineup—and the Ferris wheel is back, too. Headliners this year include MGMT, Girl Talk, the Flaming Lips, the Streets, the Decemberists, Beruit and Grizzly Bear. “We couldn’t be more thrilled with this year’s line-up,” says Noise Pop’s Jordan Kurland of the boutique festival. “It’s a well-balanced cross section of established veterans of the independent and electronic music communities alongside some of the most celebrated breakout artists of the last couple years. It’s also a chance to spend a day on an island with the Flaming Lips and a 60-foot Ferris wheel.”
One unique feature of the Festival is that absolutely none of the sets overlap. And unlike Noise Pop, which last year drew more than 100,000 people, Treasure Island is slightly more intimate. A limited amount of two-day passes go on sale July 17 at 10am for $99.99.
