The Field's band and gear denied entry to the US; Coachella set cancelled

In a bold move that has kept the nation safe from the eminent threat of Swedish electronica, customs agents have stopped the The Field’s touring band and gear at the border. The Field, also known as Axel Willner, was allowed to enter the country, but was left bereft of both gear and band. Facing the prospect of a unplanned solo tour, Willner cancelled all shows on his North American swing, including his appearance Sunday at Coachella. The musician offered the following apology:

"I'm truly sad to inform that my West Coast tour has been cancelled. My band didn't get into the country and I feel that I can't perform as interesting as I need to without them. Hopefully we'll be back on the East Coast pretty soon without any problems and do the new set up that I hope people will appreciate. My biggest apology goes out to all the people that were looking forward as much as us to attend the shows that were planned. Next time."

There has not been an official announcement as to why the band and gear was denied entry to the country. [Pitchfork]
