The Feelies Re-Issue Crazy Rhythms and The Good Earth

Indie-rock pioneers The Feelies are reissuing their first two albums, giving another generation the opportunity to discover how derivative much of their favorite music is. In particular, 1980's Crazy Rhythms is the fountainhead of subsequent music with jangly guitars and staccato beats. The reissues will come with full albums and bonus tracks, and purchasers will have access to a digital download of the album as well.

Purists will be heartened by the Feelies' decision to release the albums with their original sequencing, and their original sequencing only. Bonus tracks will not be on either CD or LP, but available through the download card issued in each package. Crazy Rhythms even leaves off the cover of "Paint it Black," included on the 1990 release by A&M but not part of the original and not performed by the original lineup.

Both Crazy Rhythms and The Good Earth will be released by Bar/None on September 8. Full track listings are below.

a bit surprised to not see their great versions of "Dancing Barefoot" or "Everyone Has Something To Hide (Except For Me And My Monkey)" but they may have been recorded during _Only Life_.
