Legendary jangle-pop band The Feelies brought down the house last night at the Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago, playing their first midwest show in 18 years. Glenn Mercer and Co. spent much of the 1980's bridging the gap between punk rock and the burgeoning alt-rock trend, recording four undeniably catchy pop albums that would set the stage for the alternative bands of the 90's. Although The Feelies broke up in 1991, they have since reunited for a select few performances. Their free Chicago set reportedly got their audience up and at 'em, running down the aisles to dance frantically to classic tunes such as "Fa Ce La," and "Crazy Rhythms." As the Chicago Sun put it "It definitely was a moment worth waiting almost 20 years for." [The Chicago Sun via The Daily Swarm].
