Frank Ocean, Miguel and The Weeknd may be R&B's hottest names right now, but don't count The-Dream out. The Grammy award-winning singer, songwriter and producer, real name Terius Nash, has been appointed as the new Executive Vice President of A&R at Def Jam Records.
According to Billboard, his new position "will have a comprehensive, broad reaching A&R portfolio," and involve overseeing both current and new artist projects (including upcoming albums from Rihanna and Pusha T), signing new talent and producing for names on the Def Jam roster. The label will also provide additional resources to his Radio Killa imprint.
"My concentration and effort will be to the artist to succeed in their dreams and goals," said Nash of his new role. "I've been a part of watching and participating in the success of many great women and men including Beyonce, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion to name a few. Music means more than just a download, it’s life to the culture and also the people who listen. This is a new exciting yet critical time for music – ‘You Meet Change with Change!’"
The-Dream is currently prepping his fourth studio album, Love IV MMXII, which is lead by the two well-received singles, "Roc" and "Dope Bitch" featuring Pusha T.
