The tenacious Decemberists don't take a trouncing lying down. Their (admittedly rather inappropriately named) guitarist Chris Funk may have tasted the bitter flavor of defeat on the Colbert Report a couple of years ago, when ringer Peter Frampton was brought in for an all-star "ShredDown," but the band will be appearing in full force on the show come April 27th. This will just be one of many chances to catch a glimpse of the bookish band, though, as they've announced a second leg for their "A Short Fazed Hovel" tour. For each show on the tour, the band will be performing two sets -- one featuring their new release, The Hazards of Love, in its entirety (it is a concept album after all, gotta preserve that narrative integrity), and one featuring songs from previous albums. And if that wasn't enough, there will be special guests -- Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond as well as Lavender Diamond frontwoman Becky Stark. No word as yet on whether any members of '90s country stars Diamond Rio will also be helping out.
