The Decemberists schedule U.S. dates

For reasons that quite frankly escape me, The Decemberists have become awfully popular in the U.S. ever since they released The Crane Wife in the fall. So much so, in fact, that the band has just announced a second round of U.S. tourdates to support the album. The tour is scheduled to run from the end of March through early May. Before any of that can go down, though, the band has some European dates to take care of in February. You can find all these dates after the jump.
If you can't make it to one of those dates however, you might consider the next best thing (I guess): a DVD of The Decemberists live in concert. The Decemberists: A Practical Handbook will be released March 20 by Kill Rock Stars and will feature the full performance of the band's November 4, 2005 concert at Portland's Roseland Theater. Also included are a documentary about the band and a few videos. Huzzah! (ugh...)
