It’s been more than a minute since we last heard from The Bug, since 2008’s London Zoo to be precise. But Kevin Martin is again hard at work on a new album with some unlikely collaborators; specifically he’s brought in Grouper.
“Spent the last two weeks writing sketches/demos for forthcoming collaboration between me and Grouper for the upcoming Ninja Tune Bug album” he tweeted earlier this week, and that's all the information we currently have. If you’re familiar with The Bug’s aggressive, cacophonous, apocalyptic squall and Grouper’s murky, neo-folk drone, it’s easy to understand why this isn’t an obvious connection. But hey, they’re two musicians who love to push themselves, I’m sure we’ll hear more about the new Bug album in the coming months. [FACT]
