Back in August, ZZ Top beardman Billy Gibbons name-checked The Black Keys in an interview, and said he wanted the Akron, Ohio, twosome to work on ZZ Top’s new album. Apparently it was more than lip service—the Black Keys are set to record this weekend with ZZ Top and producer Rick Rubin.
Whether or not anything comes out of the sessions is up in the air (as the Keys can surely tell you, after the spent last year working with Ike Turner before his death), but we could be seeing a ZZ Top and Black Keys track soon. [NME]
