The Beatles To Release Record Store Day Single

Some young band known as "The Beatles" have announced plans to jump on the Record Store Day bandwagon and release a limited edition single for one of their obscure singles, titled "Paperback Writer." It will be backed by a "deep cut" called "Rain," and will be limited to 1,000 copies, most of which will be limited to the U.K. (a place where The Beatles played once or twice, including in a sub). The single is a part of the Beatles' label's, Parlophone, plan to roll out a bunch of singles by other Parlophone bands (like Bat for Lashes and Hot Chip) on Record Store Day, which is on April 17. It remains to be seen if the strategy of releasing a single on Record Store Day will improve the reach of the Beatles, but this band is one to look out for. [Spinner]
