Thalia Zedek lying, praying on new album

The stark, dark singer-songwriter Thalia Zedek is returning with a new album entitled Liars and Prayers, which is scheduled for an April 22 release on Thrill Jockey. It's Zedek's first new full-length since 2004's Trust Not Those in Whom Without Some Touch of Madness. Zedek, who came to fame in the seminal '90s indie-rock band Come, was joined on the album by two musicians who she's long worked with, drummer Daniel Coughlin and instrumentalist David Curry. That trio was augmented by bassist Winston Braman of Shepherdess and pianist Mel Lederman, formerly of Victory at Sea. The album was recorded by Andrew Schneider.
