Taylor Swift begins eighth week at top, Animal Collective, Bon Iver, and Andrew Bird crack the Top 20

Taylor Swift's Fearless is, for the eigthth week, the number one album in the country, moving 63,000 copies. This is expected to be Swift's last week at number one, however, since projections suggest Bruce Springsteen's Working on a Dream will take number one next week.

In other Top 200 news, Andrew Bird, Animal Collective, and Bon Iver all cracked the Top 20 this week. Bird's Noble Beast moved 26,000 units and hit number 12, and Animal Collective's Merriweather Post Pavilion moved 25,000 and hit number 13. Bon Iver actually holds two spots in the top 100, as the band's new EP, Blood Bank, hit number 16 with 23,000 units sold, and the band's debut has been slowly climbing the charts, landing this week at number 85. Wouldn't have expected Bird to chart higher than AC. Could it be because a wide swath of AC fans are probably quite tech-saavy and just downloaded the album without buying it?

It might also be that Merriweather sold a bunch of copies on January 6 when the the vinyl-only release came out. It hit number 38 (or so) on the indie charts on vinyl sales alone.
