Take A Look Inside The Fender Guitar Factory In 1959 & 2012 (Videos)

Check out these videos of the Fender guitar factory in California in 1959, and then in 2012. Both videos show the process of building a Stratocaster from selecting a rectangular block of wood and taking it through all the sanding, drilling, wiring and painting that makes it capable of this. Not sure if it’s just changes in video production during the decades between the videos, but it looks like guitars used to take a lot longer. Besides pace difference, the biggest cultural change in the 53 years has to be the shirtless guitar testing at 6:50 in the 1959 video. [OC via DS]
