Wait, what year is it again? Sure, seminal indie rock have announced reunion tours and albums galore this year. But hip-hop and R&B? Not so much. Until today, of course, because we've caught wind of the reunions of 2 Live Crew and SWV. The latter will release their first album in 14 years this coming April when I Missed Us hits record stores.
The R&B trio's previous album was a holiday album, 1997's A Special Christmas. They had plans to release a new record back in 2005 but it never materialized. Instead, SWV hit the road with acts like Bobby Brown and New Edition until finally hitting the studio to get a new project on the books.
SWV members Taj, Lelee and Coko said the following on their new album: “[I]t’s a great feeling to be back recording together again! Something special always happens when we come together." You can stream lead single "Co-Sign" below. I Missed Us drops April 10.
