
A survey by Travelodge has confirmed for us what we already knew—Coldplay’s music makes you fall asleep. The travel agency surveyed people in the band’s native Britian to see which music made them fall asleep at night, and Chris Martin’s band fought off stiff competition from Michael Bublé and Snow Patrol to claim the top spot.
"In today's hectic fast-paced world, stress is the number one trigger for keeping 75 percent of Britons awake at night," said Leigh McCarron, who holds the enviable position of Travelodge’s sleep director. "Therefore it's no surprise that eight out of ten Britons rely on music to help them nod off."
Apparently, 84 percent of people in Britain listen to music while drifting off to sleep, which might explain the inexplicable success of Coldplay after all. Note to the music industry: there’s money to be made here, if you can figure out which of your bands is most likely to leave its audience in a comatose state.
