Super Furry Animals leader calls Lydon attack horrific

Gruff Rhys, leader of Neon Neon and Super Furry Animals, has corroborated Kele Okereke’s version of John Lydon’s actions over the weekend. Okereke has accused the Sex Pistols singer and his entourage of making racial comments and physically attacking him at the Summercase Festival. Though Lydon is dismissive of the charges,

Rhys, who was backstage when the altercation occurred, said that Okereke was indeed assaulted. Talking to MTV News, Rhys said, “The statements Kele has said are absolutely true. It did happen." He went on to characterize the incident as “horrific” and said that Okereke is a “brave man” offering the correct version of events. Though Okereke said that he contacted authorities in Spain and the United Kingdom, there has been no official word on whether charges may be filed against Lydon. [NME]

I have nothing to say other than I love when that dude wears his motorcycle helmet onstage.
