The third annual ATP New York is already looking like a must-see with the prior announcement of Iggy and the Stooges and the curatorial efforts of celebrated filmmaker Jim Jarmusch. Now another batch of bands has been added to the lineup, and it will include a special collaborative performance between Sunn O))) and Boris, who are planning to deliver their Altar album.
The Saturday of the event brings together some past curators of ATP events, and has now been expended to include Tortoise, Bardo Pond, and Geoff Barrow from Portishead’s new band, BEAK>. They join Explosions in the Sky, Sonic Youth, the Breeders, Fuck Buttons and many others on that day’s lineup.
Additions to Sunday’s bill include Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions, Swedish psych rockers Dungen and New Yorkers White Hills. Further acts are expected to be announced in the coming months, but the lineup so far is listed below. Ticketing information is available here.

OH man, Boris and Sunn playing Altar?! Damnation, I wanna be there.
I figured Jarmusch would invite those two. He should just get on the phone and get Tom Waits to come down. Kutshers is the perfect venue for a Waits show.
Very awesome.
They really hyped this announcement like it would sell out tickets instantly but I am underwhelmed. Sunn0))) + Boris is great but it doesn't make the lineup. There are 10+ lineup spots left though so I'm hoping for something truly special. It doesn't help that we're up to 5 acts that are repeats from past years. Still, ATP is the best possible festival experience imaginable and the lineup is good not great thus far.
