Listen to new tracks from Sun Kil Moon, Retribution Gospel Choir
Earlier this month we told you about the busy upcoming schedule for Caldo Verde Records, the imprint run by former Red House Painters/current Sun Kil Moon frontman Mark Kozelek. Now the label's site has put up samples from the new records by Sun Kil Moon (April, out April 1) and Retribution Gospel Choir (a self-titled affair out March 18), the new side-project helmed by Low's Alan Sparkhawk. "Moorestown," the Sun Kil Moon song, finds Kozelek doing what he's always done best: singing of loves and locales he's left behind, from New York City to New Orleans to Newport, Kentucky. Retribution Gospel Choir's "Somebody's Someone" has Sparhawk cranking up the guitars to near-grunge squawkiness, sounding like some of the heavier tracks from Low's The Great Destroyer. Take a listen to both songs at Caldo Verde's website.
