Sugar Hill Gang Sues Universal Over Unpaid Royalties

The Sugar Hill Gang, along with other parties including R&B group the Moments and the late Sylvia Robinson, have filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group for unpaid royalties. In the suit, which was filed in the New York Supreme Court, there are claims that the industry giant "ignored agreements with the Sugar Hill label" and, as such, has been withholding royalties. Some of those agreements apparently date back to 1969, when the label was known as All Platinum Inc. [FACT/AHH]
