In a bid to make those who procrastinate with their taxes hate life a little less, Brooklyn-based band Suckers will release their (long-awaited) self-titled EP on April 14 via the IAMSOUND label. One day before the taxman’s ax falls, we will finally have a studio document of this consummate live band’s post-guitar but still guitar-y sing-a-long music. A Stereogum band to watch, Suckers make music in which nearly everyone will find something to love: if it’s not the joyful group-singing, it’s the strange noises; if it’s not the crack and whip of off-kilter drum beats, it’s the sound of wind instruments. Each member—Quinn Walker, Austin Fisher, Brian Aiken, and the magically-named Pan—is a multi-instrumentalist who jumps from one noisemaker to another during songs. Though they have been playing live shows for years with the likes of Yeasayer, MGMT, Dragons of Zynth, Kyp Malone, and Awesome Color, they’ve finally taken their eclectic but affectingly melodic sound to the studio. Anand Wilder of Yeasayer produced the EP, and Chris Moore (TV On The Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Scarlett Johansson) engineered. You can check out some of the songs from the EP at Stereogum, Fader, and Earfarm.

I saw their show at the studio at webster hall. They were awesome: http://earfarm.com/live-music/ef-was-there/2201
