Submarines surfacing with new album

Los Angeles-based indie-pop duo The Submarines will return with a new album May 13. It's called Honeysuckle Weeks, a name that seems to recall Van Morrison's classic albums Tupelo Honey and Astral Weeks. Coming via Nettwerk, the album promises to be an eclectic mix of dub, psychedelia, and pop. The band recorded Honeysuckle Weeks in its garage studio. The album marks the first time Blake Hazard and John Dragonetti have collaborated fully on all the elements of crafting a record. The Submarines will make an appearance at South by Southwest, with full North American touring expected to happen later in 2008.
