Celebrating twenty glorious years as one of the greatest record labels ever, Sub Pop has plenty in the works throughout the year, including a return of the wonderful and long missed Singles Club and, according to Sound magazine, a summer festival with reunited bands galore.
According to Sound magazine, a reputable source close to the festival confirmed its existence along with other details, but the mag notes the source was pretty much drunk at the time so take these details with a grain of salt. The mag says the festival will be on July 12 and 13 at Marymoor Park in Redmond; two reunion performances are on tap from Green River and the Fluid (the latter confirmed by the The Denver Post); there will likely be a Sub Pop comedy night at another date and venue; and there are possible shows at various Seattle clubs leading up to the festival.
Sub Pop wouldn't confirm any of this. “While plans for Sub Pop’s 20th anniversary celebration are underway, neither a location nor a lineup are confirmed and cannot be announced at this time.”
While we wait for details tk, enjoy 20 years of Sub Pop videos courtesy of VH1.
