Stylus closes up shop, gets a jump on year-end lists
October 31, 2007 will go down not just as another year's Halloween. It will also be remembered as the last day in the existence of Stylus Magazine, a review-heavy music site (that also dabbled in blogging and film criticism). Yes, Stylus closed up shop today, but not without a flurry of activity. The site flooded its readership with plenty of year-end best lists (albums, songs, movies) and other reflections on 2007. Stylus shows much love to the likes of LCD Soundsystem (Sound of Silver gets best album, "All My Friends" best song), M.I.A., Spoon, Radiohead, the National, and Lil' Wayne. It's all well-documented with links to original reviews, videos, and audio. And, even more important in these days of hacked-out blogarrhea, it's all well-written. Adios, Stylus; you'll be missed.

Sad to see it go. They were there well before the music blog explosion.

Stylus was always solid. Always definitely deserved a daily visit from me. I"m shocked and sad to see it gone now.

I agree. Stylus has been a constant source of inspiration - serious and humorous in equal measures.
