Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas reported via Twitter that he and his band have completed their new album. Casablancas said it is “still not going to be out for a few months” due to “mixing, etc.,” but earlier reports speculated that the album might be released in March, which means the group is right on schedule.
The Strokes started working on the as-yet-untitled album in February. A month later, Casablancas announced that he was recording his vocals apart from his bandmates so as to not meddle too much in the process.
It has been four years since the Strokes’ last album, the rather lackluster First Impressions on Earth. [NME]
