Mike Skinner reveals next-next The Streets album will be the last

On his MySpace blog, Mike Skinner, he, geezer of The Streets fame, has revealed that The Streets fifth album will be his last. But don’t worry, Skinner hasn’t even put out the fourth yet.

In the post, Skinner reveals that The Streets’ fourth album, now titled Everything is Borrowed, but without a release date, has a “peaceful, positive vibe.” Compared to the tales of cocaine sordidness on 2006’s Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living, that probably shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish.

But as for the fifth album, as of yet untitled and also sans release date, Skinner said it “will be dark and futuristic. It could not be further from the album you’re about to hear.” Well considering we haven’t heard that one yet, we’ll have to take your word for it Mike. This could just be another case of a British musician blowing off some steam (and blowing smoke) on MySpace, but who knows at this point.  [NME]
