Times New Viking's latest album, Dancer Equired, is their first since 2009's Born Again Revisited. It's also their fifth full-length and features the trio expanding and maturing its sound. The rough-around-the-edges feel remains, but everything comes across with much cleaner and crisper. The thanks for that goes to their signing with Merge Records, which provided Times New Viking with the ability to record an album in a studio for the first time. The result is a more accessible, though still just as experimental, effort from the Columbus, Ohio-based band.
