Socal indie rock four-piece The Soft Pack have a new album out Sept. 25 on Mexican Summer which is streaming now on Soundcloud. Strapped features previously released singles “Saratoga,” “Tallboy,” and “Bobby Brown,” and an expanded sonic pallet which includes saxophones, pop synth lines, and glockenspiel chimes. The record is also packed with references from Roman Polanski’s Chinatown to Har Mar Superstar. Despite some changes, longtime fans of the band formerly known as the Muslims can still expect to hear the group’s hook-ridden garage rock tinged with a bit of weird.
