Stream RJD2's 'The Colossus' On MySpace

With his new album, The Colossus, set to drop this coming Tuesday (Jan. 19), producer RJD2 has put the entire record up on his MySpace for streaming. And, from what I have heard, he's moved even further away from his earlier hip-hop/electronica sound. Tracks like "The Shining Path," which features a crooning Phonte (of Little Brother, The Foreign Exchange), and "Crumbs Off the Table," which features vocals from Aaron Livingston, are smoky lounge jams while "The Glow" is a foray into pop, strained hook and all. It will be interesting to hear how the album comes together as a whole, especially with a cut like the more erratic, old-school-RJ "Giant Squid."
