Pearl Jam have taken over something the kids are calling "MySpace" to premiere their new album, Backspacer. It's streaming now at the band's "MySpace Web Page Web Log" where you can hear hit jams like "The Fixer" and others. Backspacer is due out next week, Sept. 22, in a deal with Target stores.

I find it amazing how websites and people commenting on Pearl Jam's deal only focus on the Target aspect. Target is the only big box retail store, but ALL independent record stores will be selling it as well. Why has no one decided to include or promote this aspect other than Pearl Jam? I think it's less of a sell-out considering they dropped a major label support and are LIMITING big box retailers to one store.
