When Obits released the visuals for their latest single, "You Gotta Lose," earlier this month, fellow Prefix writer Nick Neyland wrote that the track sounds like exactly what you would want on the band's sophomore album. In other words, it's heavy on the garage rock aesthetics with plenty of raucous riffs and punk-but-not-hardcore vocals from frontman Rick Froberg.
For those not familiar with Obits, their cast features guys, like Froberg, who previously rocked in bands like Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu and Edsel, among several others. And now, they're continuing to establish a name with this new(ish) act, which debuted two years ago. Next week, they're dropping off their second album, Moody, Standard and Poor, which is sounding great so far.
Stream the album below before it drops March 29.
